I WOULD LOVE TO DOCUMENT THIS MOMENT. 21/9/10. I love my RS, IT'S SO AWESOME. :')

Alternatives to Commercial desiccants (Y)(Y)(Y)

At first we were really screwed because we couldn't seem to find Milo anywhere. It seemed like she disappeared. She wasn't in the staffroom when we called her 3 times (one in the morning before assembly, after assembly and after our presentation.) I was super sad manz my source of inspiration wasn't in school. :( But ANYWAY, we were really distraught because our slides had not been vetted by our rs mentor and had not been approved and now we couldn't find Milo to ask if our formula was okay (it was really doubtful and we knew that we couldn't fool the two teachers judging us because one was a CHEMISTRY HEAD OF YEAR WITH A PHD and another was a MATH teacher. Okay so we thought that we died. I mean we were presenting something WITHOUT vetting, without preparing answers for possible questions and we were presenting it to a DR. :-( Anyway, there was a freaking technical problem because Kim and mine thumbdrives couldn't be read on the class comp and I was really distraught because our presentation was starting soon and Dr Ng was rushing us and she seemed alittle pissed off when she said "Okay I don't care Kimberly your group is going first", despite Kim telling her that we were experiencing a technical problem. It turned out that 2 of our slides with TABLES of the RESULTS in them could not be read so it was just a blank space. :-( However, the graph was taken from there so it was not so bad. Towards the end of the presentation, we realised that the PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENT RESULTS TABLE couldn't be read by the computer. Thankfully, Kim had a hardcopy so she passed it to Dr Ng and the math teacher and everything sort of worked out. :-) HEHE. Halfway throughout the presentation, when I wasn't presenting I caught Dr Ng yawning so I was alittle worried that she was bored or sth. But anyway, after our presentation, we were asked a few questions and we got stuck. The questions were mostly answered by Judith, although we managed to come up with some lame answers. We were unable to answer one question so Kim simply said "Hmmm, actually our slides did not go through teacher vetting so this all was done by ourselves alone, hence I can honestly tell you that we are not sure." Somehow, Dr Ng was quite pleased with Kim's reply HAHA. She asked some cheem questions that we didn't anticipate, but Judith always saved the day HAHA. She kept saying 'goodgood' when Judith answered her question (Y). HAHA the question about the surface area of the peanut shells and coconut coir was epic. 'So how do you know that the peanut shells have a larger surface area than the coconut? Because to me it looks like the coconut coir had a larger surface area." And then we were so desperate that we said we could grind the peanut shells if there was a need to make the surface area constant between the two. I bet she was amused HAHA. Judith saved the day by saying that we based the conclusion that peanut shells had a larger surface area than coconut coir based on the fact that our variables were all constant and hence, she hypothesized that the only independent variable, which was the surface area, must have been different and since peanut shells were more effective in adsorbing moisture, she assumed it had to do with the surface area. (Y)(Y)(Y) In the end, although we exceeded by 10 min (20 min max), she said "I think that it's a good project, hmmm explanations were clear. Good good. Thank you. *smiles"

HAHAH we thought we were screwed but it went very well <3
WE DIDN'T LET MILO DOWN I AM SO HAPPY OMG. <3

HAHA we wanted to call Milo but she wasn't in Anderson staffroom so I was sad. Then I smsed her and we went for our 2h class DC which was a total waste of time though it was kinda relaxed and fun because the prefect was damn cool (Y)

After DC milo smsed me back and asked me who I was omg my heart totally broke I thought that she had my contact number oh well. :-(

Kimberly called her and Milo answered and she put it on loudspeaker. It was heartening to hear milo's voice over the phone hehe <3 Then we told her that we got shot down by the Chem HOY and she was like yayayayayaya I knowww the chem head of year is a Dr right. Then we were actually trying to make her feel guilty because she didn't vet our slides but then it didn't work and made us feel guilty instead because she said we only sent her on Monday and she said her ICYL meeting ended super late and she didn't have the time for us. And she forgot to tell us that she couldn't be in school today because she was on course. :-( POOR MILO SO BZ. We told her one of the questions asked was what is the difference between cellulose and lignin and she was like:

Milo: LIG WHATTTTT
Kim and I:Lignin
Milo: LIGGGGG WHAT WHATT
Kim and I: LigNIN
Milo: HUH WHAT!
Kim and I: LIGNINN
Milo: Sorry Lig what again?
Kim and I: LIGNINNNNNN!!!! (HAHAHA WE SHOUTED UNTIL PEOPLE STARED AT US IN THE FOYER)

SO CUTE <3
Then when I was taking the train back with Faith, my cellphone rang but I didn't feel it and 10 min later than I realised Milo called me. :-( I was damn scared and alittle pissed that I missed my chance so I called her back even though Kim msg-ed me what she said.

Me: Hi Ms Loh, you called me?
Milo:Yah I got a missed call from you?
Me: HUH I never call you I think that was Kimmmm.
Milo: Kim ah? Oh okay sorry byeeeee.
Me: Erm wait can you repeat to me what you said to Kim?
Milo: Oh sure wait. *heard paper ruffling in background. Oh here are some words of encouragement. Erm just know that it's over and it's inevitable that you'll have questions that you can't answer.

(can't remember the rest but nothing really heh:-()

Me: Judith knew how to answer alot of questions, she saved the day!
Milo: OHHH THATS GOOD. Hmm is it possible that you ask any members in Le(4)Ying's(3) group to call me? They are very sad is it. That they got shot down?
Me: I don't know, they got shot down quite bad I heard. Sureee.
Milo: OKAYYYYYY! Thank youu
Me: Okayyyy thank youuuu byeeeee! :D
Milo: Okayyy thanks byeeeee!
